Most of other members attending the
 Assembly itself arrived during Wednes-day
 to Finland.
 On Wednesday evening FSOU
arranged a “Get Together Event” onboard m/s
Royal Cat. The cruise in the Helsinki archipelago
was organized in cooperation with Royal Line.
Especially passing Suomenlinna sea fortress and
the Finnish icebreaker fl eet at Katajanokka
 triggered long discussions. This archipelago
cruise was a very convenient way to show the
members of IFSMA the interesting geography of
the Finnish coast, many of them never been to
Finland before or even in any of the other Nordic
 countries as well.
The assembly itself on Thursday was attended
by a total over 40 participants from 25 different
countries. It was held at Radisson Blu Seaside
Helsinki next to the FSOU offi ce.
The assembly was started with a registration
followed by a welcome speech delivered by
 Captain Johan Ramsland, Managing director,
Finnish Ship’s Offi cers Union. The program
continued with a reply by Captain Hans Sande,
 President IFSMA.
The Agenda was adopted and a general report
was presented from IFSMA Secretary General
Commodore Jim Scorer and continued with the
treasures report by Captain Paul Owen
No selection for IFSMA 46th AGA was made at
this point. Interested member organisations can
make suggestions to the secretariat. After the
IFSMA 45th AGA the AGA will be held every two
 years instead of annually.
The assembly adopted the minutes to 44th
AGA, in Buenos Aires & Matters Arising.
The Assemble elected three new vice presi-dents.
  The vice presidents are automatically
members of the ExCo (Executive council). The
