INSTITUTE OF FINLAND
The Sport Institute of Finland is a national
coaching and training centre for sports
and physical education. Vierumäki
attracts yearly over 400,000 visitors:
athletes, students, corporate guests and
recreational travellers.
Vierumäki offers large capacity to host
bif training camps to smaller groups
or FIT customers with a total area of
320 hectares in a beautiful natural
environment. The area provides an
excellent setting for international sports
camps, as well as high-quality coaching
and testing services.
Vierumäki facilities include an ice stadium,
two golf courses, two indoor exercise
halls, Day Spa, Vierumäki Arena and an
auditorium, in addition to many other
versatile facilities suitable for trade
fairs, conferences and seminars. The
International Ice Hockey Centre of
Excellence is also located in Vierumäki.
Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas
hosts the Duathlon Event every
year in the Lahti region.
PAJULAHTI OLYMPIC
TRAINING CENTER
Pajulahti, an outstanding sports and leisure
oasis is the only Olympic and Paralympic
training centre in Finland. The area is
located in on the clean lake Iso-Kukkanen.
Pajulahti offers high-standard education,
coaching and training services, meeting
facilities as well as refreshing experiences
in sport and leisure. Its picturesque
nature, cosy atmosphere and constantly
developing services make Pajulahti
enjoyable in all seasons.
The high-quality sports infrastructure
in Pajulahti consists of Pajulahti Hall,
a swimming centre, exercise halls, a gym,
an ice arena, a martial arts arena and a
gymnastics hall. Each year, Pajulahti hosts
several international well known sporting
tournaments and events.
SKI RESORTS AND
LAHTI SPORTS CENTRE
The Lahti region offers two family friendly
ski resorts, Messilä and Purnu. At both ski
resorts you can find ski rental, ski school
and outdoor activities. Messilä is the
biggest skicenter in Southern Finland
and in the summertime the resort also
offers a golf course.
At Lahti sports centre, which hosts the
annual FIS world cup event and is within
walking distance from the city centre, you
can explore the ski museum and experience
what it feels like to be a real ski jumper. In
the winter, the sport centre area is great
for cross-country skiing on the illuminated
tracks. In the summer, you can explore
nature along running tracks and dip in the
swimming pool under the ski jumping hill!
